I woke up this morning to a beautiful blanket of snow and a beautiful hawk perched on my bird feeder, Got me wondering if I am feeding the birds or feeding the hawk little birds.

Payday
I call this payday because my models, the finches, nuthatches, and Chickadees allow me to feed them from my hand, The Robins, grosbeaks, and the others are holding out for warmer weather.

I was going to abandon this project a while back, I am glad I didn’t. She is almost finished and about to take flight. The hard part was using copper for the beak. seeing its a replica of a grosbeak I wanted its beak to stand out.

Just finished this piece, It was fun doing. I made the spider and web from stainless steel, the stand represents a small tree one might find in the woods barely hanging on. It is hammered carbon steel, as are the few leaves that haven’t fallen yet. the carbon steel and the leaves are acid colored. It will weather well.

Just thought I would post the progress on the chickadee I have been working on. I probably should learn how to put all the pictures together to get a better idea of the process
a Ski Day
Took the day off to go skiing on Big Mountain in Whitefish. What a great day until I fell in the parking lot
